About Quinine Sulfate

COMPOSITION:

Each 5 ml Contains:

Quinine Sulfate BP100 mg
Flavoured Syrup Base...q.s
Colour: Sunset Yellow FCF

INDICATION:

DEVQ L is indicated in malaria caused by P. vivax, P. falciparum, P. malariae, & P. ovale. It is also indicated when complication like Cerebral Malaria, Acute Renal Failure, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome severe anaemia etc. arise due to Falciparum malaria.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Adults: 600 mg given 8 hourly for 7 days
Children: 10 mg/kg body weight given 8 hourly for 7 days

WARNING AND PRECAUTION:

DEVQ L should be used with caution in patients with cardiac disorder.
Exceeding the prescribed dose of quinine may give rise to cinchonism.
Reduce the dosage (or increase intervals between doses) in renal or
hepatic disease.
